Summary

Primary responsibility is managing, supporting, and maintaining System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to sustain its operational function for the desktop environment.
Additionally, responsible for supporting the PC/LAN Analyst team with development, research and determination of requirements for issue resolution, the guidance and selection of appropriate solutions, and the maintenance of projects and plans associated with recommended solutions.
The solutions will support specific software applications (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office 365, VPN solutions, service and construction and maintenance software, customer billing application, iMap, GIS and others) and hardware (laptop, desktop and virtual machines).
Additionally, this role will support the deployment and management of corporate security applications and other management software relative to user needs.
These applications will primarily include Systems Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft Active Directory, a VPN solution for mobile devices, and a hardware and software inventory management solution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience with desktop deployment automation architecture, design, migration, and troubleshooting
  • Create, implement, deploy, and maintain images and operating system deployment (OSD) processes for enterprise workstations in a large corporate environment
  • Utilize Microsoft PowerShell to automate routine procedures, complex application installations, and OSD
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, to include but not limited to, issues with site-to-site communication, application and package distribution, SCCM advanced client, and OSD
  • Monitor SCCM application and OSD deployments in order to maintain high service availability
  • Assess existing infrastructure to provide recommendations, and research and integrate new technologies to improve quality of service while reducing total cost of ownership
  • Develop implementation strategies and deployment schedules and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Create architectural diagrams, project plans, and presentations
  • Maintain and develop new hardware standards for all end user devices
  • Install and provide methods for installing computer applications to various model devices
  • Gather, analyze and assess competitive intelligence and industry trends
  • Identify (document and develop test plan) potential problems associated with the implementation of a project to ensure minimal disruption to operations
  • Meet with end users to discuss, capture and identify direction on issues to develop best resolutions, testing required and deployment process
  • Liaise between the end user, User Support team, Information Technology Services, and Information Security to ensure team objectives align with Company goals
  • Support and assist the User Support team(s) with the requirements, analysis, design, testing, documentation
  • Coordinate with junior/other System Analysts to build required training needs of the team projects to assure best possible option is utilized for each project and/or change (essential in assuring efficient and accurate direction of any programming development)
  • Follow-up with the responsible parties on any requests for updates or upgrades as requirements change with the User Support team s processes (including close monitoring of the SysAid queue)
  • Develop and provide governance for the maintenance and installation of software upgrades

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent experience in Information Systems is required

  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and MCSA Windows 7 or higher certification, highly desired
  • Valid Driver s License

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Ten years or more experience in PC support role required, five of those in an Advanced Support role
  • Four years or more experience in working with enterprise software systems:
    deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting
  • Five years, minimum, demonstrated and solid working knowledge in the following areas:
    Windows Operating System (i.
    e.
    Windows 7 and 10); Microsoft Office 2016 and 365; SCCM (create operating system deployment task sequences, deploy software packages and applications); PowerShell scripting; Active Directory and Network fundamentals; systems interfaces
  • Proficiency in implementation, supporting, and monitoring of SCCM
  • Proficiency in PowerShell preferred
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Requires Normal Physical Stamina works in office and field environments and routinely requires lifting computer hardware weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Normal 40 Hours work week with participation in an on-call rotation, including normal work hours, after hours and on weekends
  • Overtime and/or travel may be required
